MED approval is a legal requirement for EU flagged vessels where O2 and/or flammable gas is potentially present. The PS200 Series is most commonly used on LNG and LPG carriers as well as cargo vessels and passenger ships.
The PS200 monitors and displays up to four hazardous gas conditions simultaneously. Both lightweight and durable, it uses catalytic bead sensor technology to monitor and detect a wide range of combustible gases, and electrochemical sensor technology to monitor and detect carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide and oxygen deficiencies.
Founded in 1947, GMI is a world leader in the design and manufacture of high quality and innovative gas detection equipment, specifically designed for the oil and gas, chemical and shipping industries world-wide. GMI continues to invest heavily in research and development, a high percentage of which is spent on the development of state of the art instruments and new sensing technologies.
