GMI USA re-locates to Houston, Texas

Scottish based Gas Measurement Instruments Ltd (GMI), manufacturer of portable and fixed gas detection equipment, has recently announced the re-location of its US service and repair centre to Houston, Texas.

The move will see the GMI Gainesville, GA office close on Thursday 19th January, with a new dedicated GMI USA team located within the Detcon offices in Houston on Monday 23rd January 2012.

GMI recently partnered with Detcon, a leader in fixed gas detection products, in an acquisition by Industrial Safety Technologies.  The new partnership combines GMI’s decades of experience in manufacturing portable gas detectors with Detcon’s expertise in developing fixed gas detection solutions.

‘Having an integrated IST Sales team and a strengthened joint distributor network, will allow us to open up into new geographic markets and offer a much stronger sales and service resource to our North American customer base’.
