June 2008: V!SA Excels in Harsh Environments

Our distributor in New Zealand, Lordco CWG (NZ) Ltd, have informed us that a contractor recently dropped their V!SA instrument into a sump, which was filled with 3 metres of water. Once retrieving the instrument and drying it off, it only required a simple change of filters and was up and running again within 30 minutes. The contractor was not allowed to work without the unit and would have had to close the site down for a lengthy time, had the instrument not worked. This is a prime example of the superior ruggedness of the GMI V!SA in harsh environments, something which is a key factor when choosing gas detection instrumentation.

June 2008: Odfjell SE Update

It is now over a year since GMI provided Odfjell SE with their first Oxygas 500. Odfjell are one of the worlds leading chemical and bulk liquid shipping carrier companies, with a current fleet of 92 vessels and 18 new builds on the way. The requirement from Odfjell was to equip 50 of their vessels with 2 instruments for hot tank works and inerting purposes. Along with some of our competitors, our Norwegian distributor, Vestteknikk, was invited to present GMI's Oxygas 500 to Odfjell. The feedback was good and Odfjell decided to trial the Oxygas 500 for 6 months, which was very successful. The instrument's reliability, ease of use, and the extensive world-wide sales and service support were the main factors that made Odfjell chose GMI. We have since supplied all 50 vessels, and we are also supplying all their future new builds. We would like to thank Vestteknikk for all their hard work.

May 2008: V!sa Saves 6 Firefighters From Explosion

GMI'S V!SA instrument has been praised for saving 6 firefighters from a potentially deadly blast in Hong Kong. The V!SA was used to indicate that there was a substantial gas leak, which stopped the firefighters from entering the area where the explosion occurred. As you can see from the local newspaper article below, the main picture in the centre shows the instrument in action, being used by the firefighters.

March 2008: GMI Supplies Hong Kong Fire Service with 100 V!SA Instruments

GMI is pleased to announce the sale of 100 V!SA's to the Hong Kong Fire Services Department. The V!sa underwent rigerous trials against our major competitors instruments, and was chosen due its robustness, ease of use, reliability, and the fact that it is not effected by high frequency radio waves.

We would like to thank our distributor in Hong Kong, Promat Ltd, for all their efforts.
